Every HAMRAIZ JEWELS piece is made to be worn every day. Here is what our jewellery is made of and how to keep it beautiful for as long as possible.

Our materials

925 sterling silver

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper, which gives silver the strength it needs for jewellery. Our pieces are stamped 925. [Confirm the hallmark on your pieces before publishing.]

18K gold plating

Our gold-toned pieces are 925 sterling silver finished with a layer of 18K gold plating. Plating is a thin layer of gold over the silver base, so these pieces are not solid gold. The plating wears gradually with use, and how long it lasts depends on how you wear and care for your jewellery.

Stones

How to care for your jewellery

Do

Put your jewellery on last, after perfume, lotion, hairspray and make-up.
Take it off before showering, swimming, sleeping, exercising and cleaning.
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
Store each piece separately in a dry place, in the pouch or box it came in.

Do not

Do not wear it in water, including the sea, pools and hot tubs. Chlorine, salt and heat speed up tarnish and plating wear.
Do not expose it to perfume, bleach, household cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Do not use abrasive cloths, toothpaste or dip cleaners, especially on gold-plated pieces.

Cleaning

Silver pieces

Silver naturally darkens over time, which is called tarnish. It is normal and not a fault. Polish gently with a soft silver polishing cloth to restore the shine.

Gold-plated pieces

Clean with a soft, dry cloth only. If needed, wipe with a slightly damp cloth, then dry straight away. Do not use a silver polishing cloth or polish on plated pieces, because it can remove the plating.
